What is mining?
Mining is how the Ycash network accepts new blocks. A miner runs software that uses a GPU to search for a valid proof. When the network accepts a block, the protocol issues new Ycash according to current consensus rules. Official docs present mining as a way to get involved, not as an investment product.

How to Mine Ycash on Windows PC
Beginner
New to mining?
Start with a wallet, a GPU that meets the official memory note, and software from the verified list.
01
What is mining?
Mining is how new Ycash is issued and how the network is secured. Miners use hardware to propose blocks. Official docs describe it as a way to participate without buying a specialized ASIC.
02
What hardware is needed?
Official mining docs call for a commodity GPU with at least 3 GB of memory, plus mining software that supports Equihash(192,7).
03
Get a wallet
You need a Ycash address so rewards can be paid to you. Choose a verified wallet first.
04
Choose mining software
The official mining page lists GPU miners that advertise Equihash(192,7) support. Check each project before you run it.
05
Configure it
Exact flags depend on the miner and the pool. This site does not invent command lines. Use the software's own documentation and the pool's published settings.
06
Start mining
Point the miner at a pool from the official pool directory, or follow that software's own solo-mining instructions. Finding a block is not guaranteed.
Advanced miner
Technical notes.
This section is for people already comfortable with miners, nodes, and pools. Values are sourced. Command lines that we cannot verify from official Ycash documentation are omitted on purpose.
01
Algorithm
Official mining documentation specifies Equihash(192,7). Foundation pool-implementation notes also describe the Equihash personalization string as starting with “ZcashPoW”, with bytes 8–12 encoding n=192 and bytes 12–16 encoding k=7, both little-endian.
02
Configuration
Miner flags, stratum URLs, ports, and passwords are published by each miner and each pool. They change. You will need a Ycash address. Use the software documentation plus the pool's own getting-started page.
01
Ycash address
Official mining docs say you need a Ycash address before you start.
02
Algorithm
Mining software must support Equihash(192,7).
03
Miner documentation
Flags, syntax, and fee switches come from the miner you choose. This site does not invent command lines.
04
Pool settings
Host, port, password, and worker format come from the pool's own documentation. Official Ycash docs point to a directory, not a list of endpoints.
03
Commands
The official mining page does not publish miner command lines. This site therefore does not provide copy-paste commands. Use the documentation that ships with the miner, plus the pool's published connection settings.
04
Pool information
The official mining page does not hard-code pool hosts. It points to MiningPoolStats as a directory. Individual stratum endpoints are not listed here until they are checked on their own.
05
Node information
The Ycash node software is ycashd. Current mainnet consensus in that source sets fCoinbaseMustBeShielded to true. Operators who build coinbase transactions should confirm rules against current ycashd, not archived how-to posts.
Network parameters
These figures come from the current official fact sheet. The block reward is a protocol value, not an earnings estimate, and it can change.
Target block spacing
1.25 minutes
The official fact sheet lists a 1.25-minute target block spacing.
Current block reward
1.5625 YEC
The official fact sheet lists this as the current block reward. It is a protocol figure, not an earnings estimate, and it can change.
Block reward allocation
100% to miners
The official fact sheet currently lists 100% of the block reward as allocated to miners. Confirm coinbase construction against current ycashd before operating a pool.
